According to fluid direction of the pipelines, elbow can be divided into different degrees, such as 45 degree, 90 degree,180 degree, which are most common degrees. Also there has 60 degree and 120 degree, for some special pipelines.

90 degree steel pipe elbow functioned to change fluid direction by 90 degree, so also named as vertical elbow. It is the common degree in all the pipeline systems and used most in all different degree of elbows. (As it is convenient to suit to steel construction and structural.)

Elbow Radius

The elbow radius mean curvature radius. If the radius is the same as pipe diameter, it called short radius elbow, also called SR elbow, normally for low pressure and low speed pipelines.

If the radius is larger than pipe diameter, R ≥ 1.5 Diameter, then we call it a long radius elbow (LR Elbow), applied for high pressure and high flow rate pipelines.

Long radius 90 degree elbow

LR 90 degree steel pipe elbow are installed between different lengths pipe or tubing. It helps to change direction at 90 degree, and is commonly used to connect hoses to pumps, deck drains and valve.

Short radius 90 degree elbow

SR 90 degree elbow is the same as the pipe elbow mentioned above, but the diameter is shorter. Therefore, this kind of steel elbow is often used when space is not enough.

Class WP Fitting Categorizations

Class WP fittings are subdivided into three subclasses: Classes WP-S, WP-W. and WPWX. They are manufactured to the requirements of ANSI BI6.9, BI6.11, BI6.28, or MSS Standard Practice SP-79, and they have pressure ratings compatible with 9.2.

Class WP-S fittings are those manufactured from seamless product by a seamless method of manufacture (marked with class symbol WP-S);

Class WP-W fittings contain welds where the fitting fabrication or construction welds have been radiographed (marked with class symbol WP-W);

Class WP-WX fittings are those which contain welds where alI welds have been radiographed (marked with class symbol WP-WX).

Materials Chemical Compositions

ASTM A403 Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings refers to the material of forged and rolled austenitic stainless fittings for pressure pipes. Common grades are WP304/L, WP316/L. They can be used into many fields as engineering industry, energy conversion plants etc

2. The method of analysis for nitrogen shall be a matter of agreement between the purchaser and manufacturer
3. Columbium 0.10-0.30%; Vanadium 0.10-0.30%.
4. For small diameter or thin walls, or both, where many drawing passes are required, a carbon maximum of 0.04% is necessary in grades TP304L and TP316L. Small outside diameter tubes are defined as those less than 0.500in.(23.7mm) in outside diameter and light wall tubes as those less than 0.049in.(1.24mm) in average wall thickness
